Children’s books have a special power.
They let us go on adventures with Winnie the Pooh, be amazed at Charlotte’s Web, and enjoy the antics of the Cat in the Hat. Children’s books spark creativity and bring sweet memories of reading with our families.
If you are looking for a new book to read with your little ones, our providers have suggested a few of their favorites.
Sarah Null, PA-C
My twins love the Mama & Dada books by Jimmy Fallon. It’s our go to every time! They laugh those big belly laughs and now pretend to read to each other. It encourages early language & repetition. Now my oldest loves reading it to them and acting out the animals. It’s certainly a family favorite!
Dr. Michelle Forbes
My kids and I loved to read Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. However, my current favorite is Princess Hair by Sharee Miller!
Becca McCurdy, RN CPNP
I always loved reading Goodnight Pooh by A.A. Milne to Jay and Ari when they were babies. We also really liked If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff.
Dr. Ralph Fitzgerald
My favorites would have to be Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown and Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin, Jr. and Eric Carle.
Dr. Vani Venkatachalam
My daughter, Kavya, loved when I would read to her The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss and Curious George by H.A. Rey.
Donna Thornley, RN CPNP
I love the book I Love You Forever by. It is so very touching. My family made up our own tune to the main words. The only problem is it makes me cry every time! My kids will always say “Mom are you crying?” I could only read it every once in a while!
Dr. Darla Kincaid
I can’t pick just one favorite! I love I Would Tuck You In by Sarah Asper-Smith, Should I Share My Ice Cream? by Mo Willems, and of course, Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Suess.
Oh, and I can’t forget Its Not Easy Being a Bunny from the PJ Funny Bunny Books by Marilyn Sadler. They are all so fun and teach great lessons!
