It’s normal for children to occasionally forget their homework, daydream during class or get fidgety at the dinner table. But inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity may also be signs of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
This condition of the brain makes it difficult for children to control their behavior. If undiagnosed, ADHD can lead to problems at home and school, and can affect your child’s ability to learn and get along with others.

Our providers specialize in diagnosing, treating and managing ADHD, and use state-of-the-art resources to diagnose and manage these issues in children. These include:
- The Qb Test System. This FDA-cleared device objectively measures three core symptom domains of ADHD: motor activity, attention and impulsivity. Your child’s test is compared to a control group, matched by age and gender. Your child’s Qb Test score will be considered along with your parent and teacher interviews to advise our provider how likely it is that your child has ADHD, as well as the relative severity of the disorder.
- CHADIS Patient Engagement & Health Questionnaire Solution™ for ADHD. This evidence-based, comprehensive, online tool helps to improve the quality of ADHD care, improve communication with you and your child’s teachers, and assess children faster.
If you believe your child would benefit from an assessment, please call us at 972-420-1475 and speak to the scheduler. You will then receive CHADIS documents inside your My Kid’s Chart portal and complete a developmental questionnaire and a Parent Vanderbilt form to begin the assessment process. Once your completed parent and teacher forms are received, we will contact you to schedule a Qb Test and an evaluation.
Here are a few FAQs:
- The ADHD evaluation visit is a 1 HOUR scheduled appointment, during which time your provider will discuss concerns, results of Vanderbilts + QB, and form an assessment followed by discussion of treatment.
- In order for the appointment to move smoothly and have a conclusive ending (diagnosis vs no diagnosis), we need to have everything received prior to the appointment: 1) QB, 2) Vanderbilt from parent/teacher/caregiver. QB may not need to be done only on a case-by-case basis for certain individuals—need to be approved by physician.
- The Qb test is only given in the Flower Mound office.
- The Qb appointment is separate from the assessment visit.
- After your child’s assessment, you will receive a phone call within 10-14 days if starting meds to see if treatment is helpful.
- After your child reaches a stable medication level, your child needs an ADHD follow-up appointment every 6 months. If, however, your child has additional diagnoses such as anxiety or depression, you may need follow up every 3 months or at the discretion of provider.
- You must make sure your pharmacy has refill meds available before contacting us for a refill, due to medication shortages.
- Our refills are only done M-F and need 3 business days to complete.
- Your child must be compliant with well-care yearly and with ADHD appointments as directed in order to refill meds.
- NO REFILLS are given on controlled meds—parent will have to contact us by portal for each refill. If stable, you can request a 90-day supply for medication, but there is no guarantee your insurance will cover this. Alternatively, we can send 3 one-month prescriptions separately dated.
- ADHD visits can be scheduled virtually—but every other visit at minimum should be in person so we can measure weight, blood pressure, etc.
